Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are your business hours?

Regular shop hours are 8am to 6pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The shop is closed Wednesdays and most major holidays. Please call ahead during snow storms or other extreme weather events.

2. What types of clothing do you alter?

I regularly alter both new and vintage ready-to-wear items, as well as restyling of outdated fashions. I also work on most styles of formal wear including bridesmaid gowns and prom dresses.

3. When will my items be ready?

All items are completed on a first-come, first-served basis. My Twitter feed on the front page includes the latest pickup date information. If you have questions, please call me for specific details.

4. What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment by Cash, Personal Check, or Credit Card is accepted upon the completion of your order.

5. What should I bring to my fitting?

It's always helpful if you can bring the shoes and undergarments you intend to wear with the item you are having fitted. This is especially important for formal wear. I believe the correct undergarments can make or break an outfit. In particular, a properly fitted bra is essential.

6. Do I need an appointment?

You never need an appointment.

7. Do you accept reservations?

You may reserve a pick-up date for formal wear alterations. Gowns can be very time-consuming and I can only guarantee a limited number of formals per week.

Here's how to reserve your spot:

  • A $10 deposit will reserve your pick-up date.
  • Fittings must be completed as scheduled 1-2 weeks ahead of your pick-up date.
  • Your deposit will be applied* toward your final bill.

Please call ahead for details and availablility.

8. How can I contact you?
